Judith Railton

Who is Judith Railton?

I’m a big fan of recycling, tipping out my collection of old bed linen and scraps; adding in a mix of felt and silk from other artists in our group. I let the materials tell me what to do as ideas of music, wildlife, journeys shift through my mind. I work in a flow, not knowing how it will end, but knowing that solutions will be found, new connections will be made. Working with other artists in different ways is always exhilarating.

Judith’s inspiration

Explore this Wirral, dense with childhood, memory
Travel the roads, the paths to the coasts
Finger-trace rock carvings, signs and symbols
Swoop like a bird to alight on a wildflower bright
Watch insects and seasons change
Pipe the tunes of my heart as I smell the sea breezes
